July 15, 2009

GENTEX Respiratory Systems announced today that the company was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army for the Joint Service Aircrew Mask (JSAM) System through September 2011.  On June 29, 2009, the company was awarded a $6,081,302 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for an award of a cost-plus-incentive fee delivery order to design, develop, test, prepare associated documentation and deliver the Joint Services Aircrew Mask-Fixed Wing Joint Strike Fighter Variant Integration.

The JSAM is a system for individual aircrew consisting of head/eye respiratory sustainment and protection against chemical and biological (CB) warfare agents. When integrated with aircraft-mounted and crew-mounted breathing equipment, the system will provide combined hypoxia, CB, and anti-G protection.

The Respiratory Systems facility in southern California, a product group of GENTEX Corporation headquartered in Carbondale, PA, is a recognized world leader in the design, development and manufacture of military aircrew high-altitude and fully integrated systems, high-G force oxygen masks, connectors and test sets – essential aircrew life support equipment to support, endure and sustain extreme high-performance training and mission environments.
