Gentex announces the release of the Ops-Core Fast RF1, its most advanced ballistic protection helmet system

Carbondale, PA | September 13, 2021 – Gentex Corporation, a global leader in personal protection and situational awareness solutions for defense forces, emergency responders, and industrial personnel, announced today the release of its next generation Ops-Core® FAST® helmet system, the Ops-Core FAST RF1. The FAST RF1 is the lightest weight helmet on the market to protect against a 7.62x39mm Mild Steel Core threat.

The FAST RF1 features the same innovative, modular design as previous Ops-Core FAST helmet systems and is made of a hybrid composite that is the result of years of research and development.  The FAST RF1 is the first helmet to offer this level of protection without the addition of a ballistic applique. It weighs an average of 3.5 lbs (1592 grams) making it the lightest weight 7.62x39mm ballistic protection helmet system on the market. The helmet seamlessly integrates with Ops-Core total headborne system solutions including the STEP-IN® Visor, AMP® Communication Headset, and FAST mandibles.
